Release first, then attach audio

Releasing a song creates the song and its quality score. Audio is attached afterward from the song's Wiki page by its owner. A song page shows whether an audio file is attached and provides the editor when the owner can update it.

What “audio attached” means

A song has audio when it has an uploaded audio file, not merely a title or lyrics. Audio adds 10 to release quality when it is included at release, slows daily buzz decay from 10% to 5%, and is required for every song submitted to a festival.

Ownership and rights

Only the song owner can attach or replace audio. Players must declare that they have the rights to an uploaded file. A song can be locked against further player audio changes, in which case the page explains that the file cannot be replaced.

Mechanics

How results are calculated

These rules come from the game calculation. Live market values and event-specific settings can still change the final result where noted.

Song quality

Rule

Weighted skills × studio multiplier + upload bonuses + a random adjustment from -5 to +5.

  • Skill weights: 30% Creativity, 20% Technical Proficiency, 20% Performance, and 10% each for Charisma, Communication, and Resilience.
  • Studio multipliers: no studio spending ×0.8; $500 ×1.0; $5,000 ×1.2; $50,000 ×1.5.
  • Uploading an MP3 adds 10 quality; adding lyrics adds 3.
  • The final score cannot be lower than 1.

Worked example

If all six relevant skills are 60, the weighted base is 60. A $5,000 studio gives 72, and MP3 plus lyrics gives 85 before randomness. Final quality will be 80–90.

Audio benefits

Rule

Audio release bonus: +10 quality. Daily buzz retention: 95% with audio versus 90% without audio.

  • Festival submissions require audio on every submitted song.
  • Lyrics are a separate optional addition and add +3 quality at release.
  • The song page is the authoritative place to confirm whether audio is attached.
