Earning Revenue
Understand how quality, buzz, competition, and daily buzz decay determine song earnings.

Daily settlement
Music revenue is settled daily. Each song competes only with songs in its genre for that genre’s daily revenue pool. Your dashboard reports the credited amount after settlement.
Buzz decay
After settlement, a song with audio keeps 95% of its buzz; a song without audio keeps 90%. Because decay compounds, attention falls faster over several days than a simple fixed-point reduction.
Mechanics
How results are calculated
These rules come from the game calculation. Live market values and event-specific settings can still change the final result where noted.
Revenue share
Rule
Song revenue = genre revenue pool × (song quality × song buzz) ÷ total quality-times-buzz scores in that genre.
- Quality and buzz have equal multiplicative importance.
- A song earns more by improving its own score or when competing songs have lower scores.
- The size of the genre pool is determined by the live economy, so it can vary.
Worked example
Your song scores 8,000 and all genre songs together score 40,000. It receives 20% of that day’s genre revenue pool.
Compounding buzz decay
Rule
Audio song: previous buzz ×0.95 each settled day. No-audio song: previous buzz ×0.90.
- The settled value is rounded and never drops below zero.
- Gig buzz and other attention can offset decay.
Worked example
A song starting at 500 buzz has about 475 after one settlement and about 407 after four settlements when it has audio.
