Renee Jackson was born and raised in the heart of Atlanta’s working-class West End, where she experienced firsthand the inequalities of the justice system. Fueled by a deep sense of injustice and inspired by the civil rights icons of her community, she pursued law with unwavering determination. After graduating top of her class and earning her J.D. from Howard University, she returned to Georgia to fight systemic discrimination as a civil rights attorney. Over the years, Renee became a courtroom force—known for her powerful oratory, strategic brilliance, and fierce defense of equal protection under the law. Her impassioned advocacy eventually caught the attention of political leaders, and she was appointed to the Georgia Court of Appeals. Now serving on the 3rd Circuit, she remains a strong progressive voice, particularly on issues of voting rights and civil liberties. Though divorced, Renee has found balance in her life through her love of literature, community mentorship, and long walks through Piedmont Park. With an unshakable belief in justice and dignity for all, she lives by her own guiding principle: “The Constitution guarantees more than survival. It guarantees dignity.”
