Washington Transit-Oriented Middle Housing and Permitting Act

This bill requires cities and counties to allow middle-density housing, including duplexes, townhomes, and small multifamily buildings, within designated areas near frequent public transit, subject to reasonable health, safety, and environmental standards. It also directs jurisdictions to use clear, objective standards and expedited review timelines for affordable and workforce housing projects, while preserving public notice and appeal rights consistent with state law.
