South Carolina Immigration Enforcement Cooperation and Local Compliance Act
Summary
This bill would require South Carolina state and local agencies to cooperate with lawful federal immigration detainers and information-sharing requests, while banning local sanctuary-style policies that limit that cooperation. It also lets the State Attorney General investigate violations, seek court orders, and withhold certain state grant funds from jurisdictions that refuse to comply, subject to constitutional and legal exceptions.
