Political Violence Prevention and Community Protection Act

To strengthen public safety and civil liberties, this Act establishes within the Department of Justice a bipartisan grant and coordination program to assist state, local, and tribal law enforcement in preventing and responding to politically motivated threats and targeted violence through threat assessment training, interagency information-sharing, election and public meeting security planning, digital evidence capacity, and community-based prevention partnerships; requires participating agencies to adopt clear civil-rights and privacy safeguards, public reporting standards, and de-escalation and bias-awareness training; and authorizes the Attorney General to award competitive grants, issue best-practices guidance, and submit annual reports to Congress on program performance, civil-liberties compliance, and measurable impacts on public trust and safety.
