Full text

This bill would establish competitive federal grants and cost-sharing incentives through the U.S. Department of Agriculture and Department of the Interior to help private landowners, timber operators, tribes, and state and local governments implement sustainable forest management, reduce hazardous fuels, restore fire-damaged forests, and reforest with climate-resilient native species. Priority would be given to projects that protect communities from wildfire, support rural jobs, improve watershed health, and maintain long-term timber production, with participation conditioned on science-based management plans and applicable environmental safeguards.
