Madison Hillman Releases New Songs “Tall Grass Blues” and “North Mississippi Moon”

MEMPHIS, TENNESSEE — Delta blues artist Madison Hillman today released two new singles, Tall Grass Blues and North Mississippi Moon, marking the first new music from the Mississippi-born songwriter this year.

Rooted in the landscapes and traditions of North Mississippi, the two songs reflect Hillman’s distinctive blend of Delta blues and modern Americana storytelling. Built around resonator guitar, subtle slide work, and Hillman’s smoky alto vocal style, the recordings emphasize atmosphere and emotional restraint rather than heavy production.

Tall Grass Blues draws on imagery from rural backroads and overgrown fields, capturing the feeling of memory lingering in familiar places. In contrast, North Mississippi Moon unfolds beneath a quiet night sky, reflecting on distance, regret, and the restless pull of the road.

“These songs came from driving around the Delta late at night,” Hillman said. “Sometimes the land feels like it’s holding onto stories you’re still trying to figure out. One of these songs grew out of the ground, and the other came from looking up.”

Hillman recorded the tracks in a stripped-down session that highlights acoustic guitar textures and a slow-burning rhythm section, evoking the intimate feel of traditional Delta blues performances while maintaining a contemporary sound.

Tall Grass Blues and North Mississippi Moon are available now on all major streaming platforms.
