An Act relating to immigration and public program integrity; requiring state agencies and state contractors, to the extent permitted by federal law, to verify lawful presence or work authorization for applicants seeking specified state-administered public benefits and employment-related training or assistance programs, with exceptions for emergency services, K-12 education, and other federally protected services; directing agencies to use existing federal verification systems where available, maintain due process and privacy safeguards, and adopt rules for uniform compliance; and authorizing enhanced cooperation among state law enforcement, public safety, and investigative agencies in sharing information, training personnel, and coordinating with federal authorities on trafficking, human smuggling, and related cross-border criminal activity.
