The State of Idaho shall require state agencies, county sheriffs, and municipal law enforcement departments, consistent with federal law and constitutional protections, to honor lawful information-sharing requests and detainer coordination with federal immigration authorities in cases involving criminal charges or convictions, to use available federal verification systems for employment and public-benefit eligibility where authorized, and to certify compliance in public contracting; any contractor found to have knowingly employed unauthorized workers or any applicant found to have knowingly obtained state-administered benefits through false immigration-related representations shall be subject to contract disqualification, repayment, civil penalties, and referral for prosecution under applicable law.
