Biography

Bishop Terrance Boone is the United States Senator from Georgia, a respected religious leader, veteran, and advocate for working families. First elected to the Senate in March 2025, he has quickly established a reputation as a principled voice for bipartisanship, compassion, and practical solutions to Georgia’s most pressing challenges. Born and raised in Augusta, Boone grew up in a military family where faith, service, and discipline were central values. Following in his father’s footsteps, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served as a chaplain, ministering to soldiers in combat zones and providing counsel to families affected by deployment. His time in uniform deepened his understanding of sacrifice, leadership, and the unseen struggles facing veterans and their loved ones. After leaving the military, Boone founded New Covenant Ministries, a faith-based network that offers job training, addiction recovery, youth mentorship, and housing assistance programs throughout Georgia. His leadership helped transform the organization into a cornerstone of community outreach in both rural and urban areas. In the Senate, Boone serves on the Committees on Veterans’ Affairs, Housing and Urban Development, and Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions, where he champions policies focused on expanding access to healthcare, improving veteran services, and strengthening public education. He has also worked across the aisle on initiatives to promote affordable housing, rural development, and mental health resources. Senator Boone’s approach to governance is guided by his belief that faith should inform empathy, not division, and that public service is a sacred trust. Known for his calm demeanor and moral clarity, he continues to bridge communities across Georgia through a message rooted in faith, service, and opportunity for all.
