White Star Family Field Day
Published
White Star Chemical Company will host a free Family Field Day from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Daffin Park, 2000 E. Victory Drive. The midtown park on Victory Drive offers broad lawns, live oaks, restrooms, walking paths, and parking suited to a Saturday crowd. The afternoon is for families, neighbors, and anyone who wants a few hours in the park. It is not a plant tour and will include no company product displays.
Guests may come and go. Admission is free. White Star will staff marked water stations with complimentary bottled water and a small welcome table for directions only.
What to Expect
Activities will stay on the grass and picnic edge. Bounce houses will sit in a roped play zone. A short obstacle course will run timed heats for children and mixed-age family teams. Cornhole, ring toss, and face painting will remain open through the afternoon. Sidewalk chalk and a simple craft table will give younger children a slower option.
Local civic groups, churches, and youth organizations are invited to staff booths with crafts, information, or lawn games. A shade tent with chairs will be reserved for grandparents, strollers, and anyone who wants out of the sun. Light background music is planned if the park permit allows. Volunteers will reset games and point families to water, restrooms, and the truck line. Parents remain responsible for children using the inflatables and obstacle course.
Food
Food trucks will sell treats and drinks rather than full meals: ice cream, snow cones, cookies, popcorn, lemonade, and sweet tea. Vendors will line a marked drive so walking paths and emergency access remain clear.

Why It Landed This Way
A credible, well-localized Savannah event with a real venue, clear hours, family-friendly activities, practical weather/access details, and room for local groups to participate. It should earn steady neighborhood goodwill more than major press attention. The modest food offering and reliance on parent supervision keep the scope realistic; confirm permits, vendor logistics, and inflatables safety before promotion.
What Players Should Expect
This event gives the business its strongest bump during the first 24 hours, followed by a smaller lingering boost for the next few days.
