Houston Power Saver Initiative

Stark Industries is committing $50,000 to provide free home energy-efficiency improvements for 100 Houston-area households.

Working with local community organizations and qualified contractors, Houston Power Saver will provide up to $500 per household for practical improvements that can reduce energy waste and make homes more comfortable.

Eligible improvements may include weatherstripping, door and window sealing, LED lighting, programmable or smart thermostats where appropriate, basic insulation improvements, and other low-cost measures identified through a standardized home energy assessment.

Priority will be given to lower-income households, older residents, people with disabilities, and families experiencing unusually high energy burdens. The program will not operate on a first-come, first-served basis. Eligibility standards and the assessment checklist will be published before applications open.

Participating households will pay nothing for approved improvements. If an assessment identifies needs beyond the program's $500-per-household limit, residents will receive referrals to other available energy-efficiency or home-repair resources rather than promises the program cannot fulfill.

Stark Industries will publish a 60-day report showing applications received, households served, types of improvements completed, average spending, neighborhoods reached, and unmet demand, while protecting resident privacy.
