Hydra Quantum Detroit Future Skills Initiative

Detroit students, educators, entrepreneurs, and community organizations are invited to join HydraOne for the Hydra Quantum Detroit Future Skills Initiative, a free community technology event at Wayne State University focused on preparing residents for the next generation of computing, artificial intelligence, and emerging technology careers.

Presented in partnership with Wayne State University, TechTown Detroit, the Detroit Public Library, and Detroit at Work, the event will feature hands-on learning sessions that explain advanced computing concepts in practical ways while showing how emerging technologies can support education, healthcare, manufacturing, cybersecurity, and small business operations across Southeast Michigan.

Throughout the day, HydraOne engineers, university faculty, and local technology professionals will host interactive demonstrations, career discussions, and technology planning sessions designed for high school students, college students, career changers, nonprofit organizations, and small businesses interested in preparing for tomorrow’s digital economy.

As part of the initiative, 25 Detroit students and nonprofit organizations will receive complimentary access to Hydra Quantum learning resources, mentoring sessions, and technology planning consultations to help build long-term technology skills within the local community.

Attendees will also have opportunities to connect with local employers, educators, startup founders, and community organizations to learn about internships, workforce development programs, scholarships, and educational resources available throughout Wayne County.

The Hydra Quantum Detroit Future Skills Initiative is designed to strengthen Detroit’s technology workforce by making advanced computing education more accessible while helping residents and organizations prepare for the next generation of innovation.
