Ewing Oil and Gas will hold a community outreach event in Acres Homes, Houston, to promote the benefits of gas heating. Scheduled for a non-holiday Thursday evening, the event will focus on the advantages of gas heating over electric heating in Texas, especially during extreme cold snaps and power outages, such as those experienced after hurricanes.

Attendees will learn about the risks associated with ERCOT energy contracts compared to gas contracts. Ewing Oil and Gas will also offer promotional contracts with fixed rates to encourage customers to convert.

The event will be available both in-person and online, with advance sign-ups managed through the company website and via phone. Participants will receive a detailed analysis of their likely home energy use and how a gas hookup, even if rarely utilized, could help limit exposure to power price spikes in the deregulated Texas power market, particularly when paired with a gas generator.

Targeting the African-American community in this neighborhood, discounts on the purchase of generators and off-grid backup power will be provided. Residents will be reminded of the extensive failures of the power grid during blizzards and hurricanes, such as Ike.
