Connect Houston: Senior Digital Access Initiative
Stark Industries is committing $50,000 to help 250 older Houston-area residents gain safer, more reliable access to essential digital services.
Working with Houston-area libraries, senior centers, and community organizations, Connect Houston will provide free small-group workshops covering smartphone basics, telehealth access, online banking safety, scam recognition, password security, and access to government and community services online.
The initiative will also provide Digital Access Kits to 250 qualifying residents, including practical technology accessories and individualized setup assistance. Priority will be given to lower-income older adults who lack reliable technology support or have difficulty accessing essential services online.
Workshops will be free and open to the public, regardless of whether someone receives a kit. Participating locations, schedules, eligibility standards, and the application process will be published before enrollment begins.
Stark Industries will publish a 60-day results report detailing enrollment, workshop attendance, kits distributed, spending, neighborhoods reached, unmet demand, and participant-reported improvements in safely using essential digital services.
$50,000. 250 seniors. Practical help navigating an increasingly digital world.
Why It Landed This Way
Strong, credible local initiative with a clear target population, practical curriculum, public access, and measurable 60-day reporting. The library and senior-center partnerships fit Houston well. The only minor concern is that $50,000 must stretch across kits, staffing, workshops, and reporting, so execution details and kit contents will matter.
What Players Should Expect
This event gives the business its strongest bump during the first 24 hours, followed by a smaller lingering boost for the next few days.
