White Star Chemical is pleased to host Faith & Family Day, a free Saturday afternoon at Daffin Park for Savannah families, neighbors, and congregations of every kind.

White Star is the sponsor and organizer. This is not a product event, plant tour, or service of any one church. It is a public picnic with games, a free dinner, dessert trucks, and a short shared blessing offered in a deliberately ecumenical, non-sectarian spirit.

The invitation is simple: come to the park. Bring children, grandparents, friends, and anyone who would enjoy a meal under the trees. Churches across Savannah are invited to participate as partners: set up a welcome booth if they wish, bring a craft or game, send volunteers, and sit down to dinner with people they may not see during the ordinary week. Guests with no congregation are just as welcome as those attending with a Sunday school class.

White Star will cover park arrangements, dinner, water, tents, and basic supplies, while keeping the afternoon running on time. A small host table will greet guests and answer practical questions. The company’s role is simply to be a Savannah neighbor putting on a good day for families.

Churches may share when they worship and how visitors can find them. Booths should not become arguments with neighboring congregations; White Star will send a short participation note setting that expectation in advance.

Baptist, Catholic, Anglican, Pentecostal, nondenominational, historic Black churches, and smaller fellowships are invited on the same terms. The blessing will give thanks for families, people who serve the city, teachers, and the chance to be together.

White Star will provide bottled water throughout the afternoon at marked stations near the games, dinner line, and shade tent.

Dinner is free and will be the day’s main meal: boxed or buffet-style sandwiches, at least one hot option if it can be held safely, simple sides, and fruit. The menu will include a clearly marked pork-free choice and a vegetarian option.

Food trucks and small vendors will offer treats such as ice cream, cookies, funnel cake, popcorn, snow cones, lemonade, and sweet tea.

Activities will include Jenga, cornhole, bubbles, jump rope, sack races, face painting, ring toss, and more.
