Dallas Teacher Classroom Boost

Stark Industries will invest $50,000 to help 100 Dallas teachers purchase classroom materials and supplies through a new initiative, Dallas Classroom Boost.

Working with Dallas ISD, Dallas College, and local education partners, Stark Industries will provide 100 teachers with $500 classroom grants for materials that directly support student learning.

Teachers may use grants for needs such as books, science and STEM materials, classroom technology accessories, art supplies, instructional games, organizational materials, and other approved classroom resources.

The program will prioritize teachers serving schools with high levels of economic need and limited access to supplemental classroom resources. Participating schools and teachers will be selected using published criteria developed with education partners, rather than on a first-come, first-served basis.

Stark Industries will keep the application intentionally simple so teachers are not required to complete an extensive grant proposal for a $500 award.

Within 60 days, Stark Industries will publish the number of schools and teachers served, categories of materials purchased, total funds distributed, and the percentage of funding reaching schools identified as having the greatest resource needs.

If applications exceed the 100 available grants, priority will go to teachers demonstrating the greatest classroom need. Unsuccessful applicants will receive information about other available community and education resources.

The program is intentionally straightforward. $50,000 will not solve school funding challenges across Dallas. It can, however, put useful materials into 100 classrooms where teachers and students can use them immediately.
