Dallas Summer Utility Relief Initiative

Stark Industries is committing $50,000 to help 250 Dallas-area households at risk of losing electricity during periods of extreme heat.

The Dallas Summer Utility Relief Initiative will provide up to $200 per household toward an overdue residential electric bill for qualifying households experiencing financial hardship.

Priority will be given to lower-income households with residents age 65 or older, people with disabilities or significant medical vulnerability, and families with young children. Assistance will not be first-come, first-served. Stark will publish eligibility and priority criteria before applications open.

Stark Industries will seek partnerships with established Dallas-area community and utility-assistance organizations to identify eligible households, provide in-person and phone application assistance, and verify that approved payments are applied directly toward each household’s electric account. No organization will be described as a confirmed partner until it has agreed to participate.

Applications will open within 30 days. Residents will not be required to navigate an online-only process, and Stark will minimize documentation requirements while maintaining consistent eligibility standards.

Because $200 will not solve every household’s utility debt, residents with larger balances will receive information about additional assistance programs when available. Stark will not represent a referral as guaranteed assistance.

Within 60 days of the first payments, Stark will publish an aggregate report showing applications received, households assisted, average assistance, neighborhoods reached, priority populations served, households facing shutoff or disconnection notices, and eligible demand the $50,000 program could not meet. No names, addresses, account numbers, or other identifying information will be published.
