Stark Dallas Power-On Emergency Fund
Published
No family should lose electricity because they are one bill short.
Stark Industries is launching the Dallas Power-On Emergency Fund, committing $50,000 to help up to 200 Dallas County households facing imminent electricity disconnection or seeking restoration after a recent shutoff.
Immediate, Targeted Relief
Eligible households may receive up to $250 toward a verified past-due electricity bill, disconnection prevention, or restoration charge.
Priority will go to lower-income households with children, older adults, residents with disabilities or medical equipment requiring electricity, and families experiencing sudden income loss.
One Payment. Power Protected.
Stark will pay electricity providers directly rather than distribute unrestricted cash.
Applicants must provide a current bill, a disconnection notice or proof of shutoff, and basic financial hardship information.
Assistance will be approved when payment can prevent disconnection or restore service. If $250 is insufficient, Stark will verify a utility payment arrangement or additional funding that resolves the remaining balance. Partial payments alone will not count as successful cases.
Fast Help for Urgent Cases
Households facing disconnection within 72 hours or already without electricity will receive priority.
Stark will target a decision within one business day after verification, with direct utility payments coordinated promptly.
Applications will be available online, by phone, and through assisted community referrals, with English- and Spanish-language instructions.
Stark will seek outreach assistance from Dallas-area utility assistance organizations, neighborhood nonprofits, and community service providers. Confirmed partners and application contacts will be published before launch.
Applications are targeted to open within 30 days after payment procedures are tested.
Transparent Results
After 60 days, Stark will publicly report:
- Households applying and receiving assistance
- Total and average payments
- Verified disconnections prevented and services restored
- Urgent-case response and payment times
- Eligible households unable to receive assistance
Personal information will remain confidential.
$50,000. Up to 200 households. One measurable result: keeping the lights on.
Because an emergency utility bill should not become a household crisis.
Why It Landed This Way
Highly credible, locally relevant relief with clear eligibility, direct-to-provider payments, urgent-case handling, Spanish access, and measurable reporting. The 30-day setup period and unconfirmed outreach partners modestly limit immediate impact, but the plan is disciplined and practical.
What Players Should Expect
This event gives the business its strongest bump during the first 24 hours, followed by a smaller lingering boost for the next few days.
