Stark Industries, in partnership with Texas Instruments, Dallas College, and the Dallas Regional Chamber, will host the inaugural North Texas Future Builders Challenge at the Perot Museum of Nature and Science on Saturday, September 12.

The free event will bring together high school students, college teams, startup founders, skilled-trades professionals, and local manufacturers to develop solutions for practical challenges facing North Texas communities.

Teams will compete throughout the day on ideas related to energy efficiency, water conservation, advanced manufacturing, transportation, and neighborhood safety. Industry engineers, educators, and business leaders will mentor participants before judging final presentations.

Stark Industries will award one $25,000 Grand Innovation Grant, three $10,000 Community Impact Awards, and ten $2,000 Student Innovation Scholarships. Winning teams will receive six months of mentorship from Stark Industries and partner organizations. The Grand Prize project will be showcased at the Dallas Regional Chamber Annual Innovation Summit and presented to local civic leaders for potential implementation.

The event will also feature hands-on engineering demonstrations, robotics exhibitions, startup showcases, and career-exploration opportunities hosted by North Texas employers. Families will have free access to interactive STEM activities throughout the day.

By connecting education, entrepreneurship, and industry with real community challenges, the North Texas Future Builders Challenge is designed to help promising ideas become lasting improvements for Dallas and the surrounding region.
