The bill would make political violence against active political figures punishable by death, but it does not define “political violence” or “active political figures” and is unclear about state versus federal jurisdiction.

This bill would require South Carolina law enforcement and detention facilities to cooperate with federal immigration authorities by honoring lawful detainers where allowed, giving advance notice of releases, and allowing access for identification and transfer.
