This bill would push South Carolina police and agencies to cooperate more closely with federal immigration enforcement, allow sentence enhancements for certain felonies committed by people unlawfully present where legally provable, and require lawful-presence verification for most state-funded public benefits while preserving emergency care, K-12 education, and other legally protected services.

This bill would require South Carolina law enforcement to cooperate with federal immigration authorities when unlawfully present individuals are charged with or convicted of crimes, and it would expand mandatory E-Verify use for many employers. It also adds tougher consequences for employer noncompliance and allows immigration status-related aggravating sentencing in some cases while preserving emergency services, K-12 access, due process, and victim/witness cooperation.

The South Carolina Local Law Enforcement Enhancement Act proposes increased state funding for local law enforcement to address rising crime rates, enhance community safety, and improve police resources through hiring, training, and equipment upgrades.

The Community Policing Enhancement and Law Enforcement Training Act seeks to increase funding for law enforcement training and enhance community policing initiatives in South Carolina to combat rising crime rates and build trust between police and communities.

The South Carolina Local Law Enforcement Funding Enhancement Act proposes increased state funding for local law enforcement to combat rising crime rates, enhance community safety, and improve operational efficiency through hiring, training, and equipment upgrades.

The South Carolina Public Safety and Second Chance Act aims to enhance public safety through increased law enforcement funding, stricter sentencing for violent crimes, and expanded rehabilitation programs for non-violent offenders.
