This bill requires state and local law-enforcement agencies to maintain procedures for participation in applicable federal immigration-enforcement information-sharing programs and to certify compliance to the appropriate state authority. It prohibits immigration-status inquiries from interfering with the investigation of reported crimes or access to victim and witness services, and protects victims, witnesses, and crime reporters from immigration-related retaliation or disclosure except as required by federal law or court order.
