New Mexico Rural and Tribal Healthcare Access Act

This bill establishes a targeted state program to expand access to primary care, behavioral health, and telehealth services in rural and tribal communities across New Mexico by creating loan repayment and recruitment incentives for physicians, nurses, behavioral health providers, and other licensed clinicians who commit to serving designated shortage areas; appropriating grant funding for community health clinics, tribal health partners, and mobile care units; supporting broadband-enabled telehealth infrastructure, equipment, and reimbursement parity consistent with state law; and directing the Department of Health to coordinate with tribal governments, local providers, and higher education institutions to prioritize workforce placement, maternal health, substance use treatment, and mental health services in underserved regions.
