Arizona Border Coordination and Public Safety Reimbursement Act

The State of Arizona shall establish a Border Enforcement and Trafficking Interdiction Coordination Program within the Department of Public Safety to improve information-sharing and joint operations among state, county, local, and federal law enforcement on unlawful border crossings, cartel-related activity, and human trafficking; require quarterly reporting on interdiction activity, trafficking investigations, and associated public safety impacts; and create a state reimbursement fund, subject to legislative appropriation, to assist counties, municipalities, sheriffs’ offices, detention facilities, and prosecutors with documented immigration-related public safety and emergency response costs, with priority given to border and high-impact communities.
