An Act to Promote Transit-Oriented Housing and Workforce Affordability

This Act shall establish statewide zoning standards allowing multifamily housing, including affordable and mixed-income units, in designated areas near MBTA stations and other major transit hubs, subject to reasonable local design and safety requirements. It shall streamline permitting through clear deadlines and consolidated review, provide state grants and tax incentives for municipalities and developers that exceed production and affordability targets, and prioritize projects that use union labor, prevailing wages, and workforce-housing requirements for eligible public support.
