Workforce and Native Hawaiian Housing Affordability Act

This bill would authorize $2 billion annually for five years in competitive grants through the Department of Housing and Urban Development to support the construction, rehabilitation, and preservation of long-term affordable housing for workers and Native Hawaiian families in high-cost communities. It would strengthen funding for the Native Hawaiian Housing Block Grant program, provide incentives for state and local partnerships that protect existing affordable homes from conversion or displacement, and prioritize projects that include lasting affordability requirements, energy-efficient design, and proximity to jobs, schools, and transportation.
