A bill to authorize the Attorney General to award competitive grants to states, counties, municipalities, and multi-jurisdictional partnerships to support evidence-based violent-crime prevention and anti-gang initiatives, including local law enforcement coordination, focused deterrence programs, youth outreach and mentorship for at-risk juveniles, victim and witness support services, crime analysis capacity, and prosecutorial assistance for repeat violent offenders, with priority given to high-crime communities that demonstrate cooperation among police, sheriffs, schools, prosecutors, and community organizations, and with annual reporting requirements to ensure fiscal accountability and measurable public-safety outcomes.
