Tribal Sovereignty and Native Civil Rights Enforcement Act

A bill to strengthen protections for federally recognized Tribes and Native Americans by directing the Department of Justice and relevant federal agencies to investigate and enforce against discrimination in public services, permitting, and land-use decisions affecting Tribal governments, Native individuals, and access to culturally significant lands, waters, and traditional resources; to require meaningful government-to-government consultation before major federal actions affecting such interests; to authorize civil remedies and grant conditions for repeat violators; and to clarify that nothing in this Act diminishes existing Tribal treaty rights, sovereign authority, or federal trust responsibilities.
