Tribal and Rural Health Access Improvement Act

To expand access to essential healthcare in underserved communities, this bill increases federal funding for Indian Health Service, tribally operated clinics, and rural community health centers, with dedicated support for mental health services, maternal and prenatal care, telehealth infrastructure, and workforce recruitment and retention. The bill also directs the Department of Health and Human Services to provide states, tribes, and eligible rural providers greater flexibility in administering federal health grants, coordinating care delivery, and reducing administrative barriers, while preserving tribal sovereignty and prioritizing long-term provider access in frontier, tribal, and medically underserved areas.
