Full text

This bill would authorize a federal grant program administered by the Department of Housing and Urban Development, in coordination with the Department of Agriculture, to support tribes, tribally designated housing entities, rural counties, and qualified nonprofit partners in constructing, rehabilitating, and preserving affordable, energy-efficient homes in underserved communities. Grants would prioritize projects that address overcrowding and housing shortages, reduce household utility costs, use local labor and materials, and comply with applicable tribal housing plans, while preserving tribal self-determination and allowing tribes to set project priorities consistent with their own laws and housing needs.
