Secure Borders and Fentanyl Interdiction Act of 2026

To strengthen border security, this bill appropriates additional funds to hire and train U.S. Border Patrol agents, asylum officers, immigration judges, and support staff; deploys fixed and mobile surveillance technology at high-traffic sectors and ports of entry; expands short-term detention and transportation capacity consistent with federal detention standards; and directs the Department of Homeland Security and Department of Justice to establish expedited removal and prosecution priorities for individuals repeatedly apprehended after unlawful entry and for persons charged with trafficking fentanyl or fentanyl precursors, while requiring quarterly public reporting to Congress on staffing, encounters, removals, seizures, detention conditions, and case-processing times.
