This bill would strengthen coordination among federal immigration authorities and Montana state, county, and municipal law-enforcement agencies to address irregular migration, while preserving due-process protections for lawful asylum claims. It would authorize targeted grants for rural communities facing increased costs related to emergency services, detention transport, language access, and public safety; require participating agencies to follow federal civil-rights standards and transparent reporting requirements; and direct federal officials to consult with affected local governments before implementing major operational changes.
