To expand and stabilize access to healthcare in rural communities, geographically isolated states, and U.S. territories, this bill would increase mandatory federal funding for community health centers, establish a competitive grant program for telehealth broadband connectivity, equipment, and provider training, and create targeted support for maternal health, behavioral health, and emergency care coordination in medically underserved island and remote regions; the bill would direct the Department of Health and Human Services to prioritize areas with provider shortages, high travel barriers, and poor health outcomes, while requiring annual reporting to Congress on access, workforce capacity, and patient results.
