Full text

This bill directs the Secretary of Health and Human Services, through existing substance-use-disorder grant programs, to award competitive grants to states, tribes, rural hospitals, community health centers, and nonprofit providers to expand telehealth addiction treatment, medication-assisted treatment, peer-recovery services, and transportation to care. Grant priority shall be given to programs serving veterans, first responders, and communities with limited treatment capacity, with coordination among the Department of Veterans Affairs, state health agencies, and local providers. The bill authorizes technical assistance and outcome reporting through existing federal offices and does not establish a new federal agency or program bureaucracy.
