Border Security Technology and Visa Enforcement Act of 2026

To strengthen border security and immigration enforcement, this bill appropriates targeted funding to the Department of Homeland Security for additional surveillance towers, ground sensors, drone monitoring, and interoperable screening systems at high-traffic sectors of the southern border; increases the number of asylum officers and requires expedited initial credible-fear screenings with enhanced fraud-detection and identity-verification procedures consistent with federal law and due process; expands overstay tracking and reporting requirements for temporary visa holders through improved entry-exit data systems; and establishes higher federal criminal penalties and expanded investigative authority for smuggling conspiracies tied to transnational criminal organizations or cartel-affiliated trafficking networks.
