This bill would increase funding for federal immigration enforcement personnel, detention capacity subject to federal standards, and technology at ports of entry and high-traffic border areas. It would require the Department of Homeland Security to establish faster information-sharing and coordination protocols with state and local law enforcement, while preserving federal oversight, judicial review, access to legal counsel where required by law, and due-process protections for individuals in immigration proceedings.
