This bill would provide targeted funding to reduce asylum-processing backlogs, expand immigration-court capacity, and increase detention space for noncitizens charged with or convicted of serious crimes, subject to due-process protections and federal oversight. It would strengthen employment-verification requirements through improved E-Verify safeguards, privacy protections, and reasonable compliance timelines for employers, while preserving lawful immigration pathways and prohibiting discrimination against authorized workers.
