This bill would require the Department of Homeland Security to submit a unified border-enforcement and asylum-processing plan to Congress, establish regular coordination with state and local law-enforcement agencies operating near the southern border, and improve timely information sharing regarding immigration status and release decisions, while preserving federal responsibility for lawful asylum adjudication and access to humanitarian protections.
