A bill to amend the Immigration and Nationality Act to require all employers nationwide to use the E-Verify program for new hires within a phased implementation period, increase civil and criminal penalties for employers that knowingly hire or continue to employ unauthorized workers, authorize additional funding for worksite enforcement and compliance assistance, and establish safe-harbor protections for employers acting in good-faith compliance, in order to protect wages, strengthen job security, and deter unfair labor practices that undercut American workers, including those in the manufacturing sector.
