A bill to increase the supply of affordable housing by expanding and modernizing federal tax incentives for mixed-income rental and starter-home development, authorizing competitive grants to states, local governments, and nonprofit developers for energy-efficient and transit-accessible housing construction and preservation, and directing the Federal Trade Commission and Department of Housing and Urban Development to strengthen enforcement against deceptive rental practices and price-gouging schemes that exploit housing shortages, with priority given to projects that lower long-term utility costs, expand workforce housing, and preserve affordability for low- and moderate-income households.
