Affordable Housing and Community Revitalization Act

This Act establishes a competitive grant program within the Department of Housing and Urban Development to assist states and local governments in converting vacant or underused buildings into energy-efficient affordable housing. Eligible projects must include a plan for long-term affordability, prioritize rehabilitation over new development where feasible, and demonstrate that construction and related infrastructure will avoid or minimize impacts on nearby public lands, wetlands, and critical wildlife habitat. Grants may support energy-efficiency upgrades, environmental assessments, code compliance, and climate-resilient improvements.
