Champions Add to the Climb: Summit Select Caleb Turner and Tyler Hanley in Season 7 Draft
DENVER — The reigning DFL champion Denver Summit added two new faces to the roster today, selecting wide receiver Caleb Turner at No. 12 and defensive back Tyler Hanley at No. 13 in the Season 7 Draft.
Turner, a 20-year-old out of Belleville, Illinois, by way of St. Clair County, arrives as a receiver known for reliable hands and a willingness to do the unglamorous work, including covering kicks. His path to the league was anything but handed to him: limited varsity reps, a junior college roster spot, and a camp invite earned on effort. He is a practical, team-first addition to a championship room that was built on exactly that kind of grit.
Hanley, a 22-year-old defensive back from Spokane, Washington, takes a similar road into Denver. Undrafted out of the gate, he turned an open tryout into a roster invitation by standing out on special teams and limiting mistakes in coverage. He is a depth piece with room to grow, and a willingness to earn his place one assignment at a time.
“We did not build this team on big names. We built it on people who show up and do the work,” said owner Lila Grant. “Caleb and Tyler both fought their way here, and that is exactly the kind of player who belongs on this mountain. Welcome to Denver. The climb continues.”
Both players join the Summit as the franchise opens its title defense in Season 7.
