National Responsibility Monitor established to assess risk and responsibility
Southaven, Mississippi - The National Responsibility Monitor (NRM) today announced its formal establishment as an independent, nonpartisan organization dedicated to evaluating responsibility risk in major corporate, institutional, and organizational decision-making.
NRM will provide analytical assessments focused on how decisions may affect public trust, market stability, and long-term institutional credibility. The organization’s work is advisory and informational in nature and does not carry regulatory or enforcement authority.
“Markets, institutions, and the public increasingly recognize that legality alone does not resolve questions of responsibility,” CEO Donna Lowenthal said. “NRM exists to examine the space between what is permitted and what is sustainable.”
Headquartered in DeSoto County, Mississippi, with proximity to the greater Memphis region, NRM stated that its location reflects a deliberate choice to operate outside traditional political and financial power centers while remaining closely connected to their real-world impacts.
NRM’s work will include:
Risk assessments and monitoring
Voluntary responsibility certifications for participating organizations
Pre-decision reviews requested by boards and institutions
Aggregated responsibility risk data and research products
The organization emphasized that participation in NRM programs is voluntary and that its assessments are designed to inform, not dictate, decision-making.
