San Antonio Coyotes Unveil New Identity for a New Era
SAN ANTONIO, Texas — Following the club's first victory in franchise history as the San Antonio Coyotes, Owner Tony Bellanova today unveiled the team's new primary logo, marking another milestone in the franchise's transition from Charlottesville to South Texas.
"The Scholars honored where we came from," Bellanova said. "The Coyotes represent where we're going."
The new crest features a fierce coyote framed within a shield inspired by the iconic architecture of the Alamo, symbolizing resilience, determination, and the fighting spirit that has defined San Antonio for generations. The club's new desert-inspired color palette reflects the landscape and culture of South Texas while establishing a bold new identity for the franchise.
"When we arrived in Texas, I promised this wouldn't feel like someone else's team wearing a new name. This logo belongs to San Antonio. It's a symbol of grit, loyalty, and a city that embraces competition."
Bellanova emphasized that while the franchise has adopted a new identity, it has not forgotten its roots.
"Charlottesville gave this organization its first home and its first believers. Every chapter of our history matters. But today we're writing the next one."
The Coyotes enter Week 3 of the DFL season with a 1-1 record after defeating the Tampa Bay Storm 17-13 in the club's first home victory under its new name. With consecutive sellouts at the team's temporary home stadium and growing excitement across South Texas, Bellanova believes the franchise is only beginning to realize its potential.
"This logo isn't just about football. It's a promise that we're here to build something that lasts."
The San Antonio Coyotes return to action this Thursday on the road against the Richmond Capitols.
