I see young people who are graduating with mountains of debt and wondering if they'll ever be able to buy a home. I see seniors who are choosing between medicine and groceries. I see communities that have been ignored by Washington for too long. **I see a state that deserves better.** **And I see a choice.** The other side wants to take us backward. They want to cut Medicare. They want to gut Social Security. They want to ban abortion nationwide. They want to deport our neighbors. They want to deny climate science. They want to take us backward. **But Paletuatoa Peniamina signed the PRO Act.** He raised the minimum wage. He capped rent increases. He capped insulin at $35 a month. He signed the John Lewis Voting Rights Act. He declared a climate emergency. He created a path to citizenship for Dreamers. **He fought for us. Now we need to fight for him.** **To the working families:** I know you're tired. I know you're scared. I know you're wondering if the American Dream is still possible. It is. But not with the leadership we have. We need to finish what we started. **To the young people:** You are the future. Don't let anyone tell you your vote doesn't matter. It does. Your voice matters. Your future matters. **To the immigrant families:** You belong here. You are New Jersey. You are America. And I will fight for you. **To everyone in this room:** Vote like New Jersey depends on it — because it does. Vote like your rent depends on it — because it does.
