They want to turn their backs on the people who wore the uniform. Not on my watch. I fully funded the VA. I expanded mental health services. I ended veteran homelessness. I made sure that every veteran got the benefits they earned. But the other side wants to undo it all. **Second: Our military families.** You serve your country every day — not in uniform, but by supporting those who are. You move every few years. You sacrifice stability. You give up careers. And Washington has not done enough for you. I expanded military family support programs. I invested in childcare, education, and healthcare for military families. I made sure that when a service member deploys, their family is taken care of. But the other side wants to cut those programs. **Third: Our shipbuilding industry.** Norfolk is the heart of the shipbuilding industry. Thousands of families depend on those jobs. The ships that protect our nation are built right here. I invested in shipbuilding. I protected the workforce. I made sure that American ships are built by American workers. But the other side wants to ship those jobs overseas. **To the veterans in this room:** You served this country with honor. I will serve you. **To the military families:** I see your sacrifice.
