Lantern Coffee Co. is excited to officially open its doors to the Monroe County community with a weekend celebrating local coffee, local music, and the people who make this community special.

Throughout the weekend, guests can enjoy complimentary coffee tastings, fresh pastries from local bakeries, and live acoustic performances from area musicians. The café's stage will also host open mic sessions, giving aspiring singers, songwriters, poets, and storytellers a chance to perform in a welcoming environment.

The event is designed to introduce Lantern Coffee Co. as more than just a place to grab a cup of coffee. The goal is to create a neighborhood gathering place where students, families, remote workers, artists, and friends can slow down, connect, and support one another.

As part of the grand opening, a portion of opening weekend proceeds will be donated to a local arts education program to help provide instruments and music opportunities for young people in Monroe County.

"Coffee has always been an excuse for conversation," founder Mark Ellis said. "If someone leaves here having met a new friend, heard a great song, or simply had a better day than when they walked in, we'll call that a success."

Everyone is welcome, and admission is free.
