Contingent on voter approval of the expanded homestead exemption, the bill automatically grants homeowners the new relief while restricting local governments from offsetting savings through higher millage rates, fees, or assessments. It also requires public votes, detailed tax notices, statewide reporting, and protections for essential services.

This bill would push Florida police, jails, and employers to cooperate more closely with federal immigration enforcement by honoring lawful detainer requests when possible and requiring E-Verify for many employers. It also adds audits, penalties, possible license suspensions for repeated knowing violations, and implementation rules framed around public safety and lawful employment.

This bill requires Florida state and local governments, including law enforcement, to use best efforts to cooperate with federal immigration authorities on identification, detention, transfer, and lawful status checks. It also bans local limits on that cooperation and allows state grant penalties for material non-compliance, while preserving exceptions for victims, witnesses, and emergency services.

This bill requires Florida local jails to notify federal immigration authorities before releasing inmates charged with or convicted of crimes and to briefly hold them for transfer when backed by a lawful detainer or administrative warrant. It also bans local policies that block this cooperation and sets statewide reporting and recordkeeping standards while stating implementation must follow constitutional and existing legal limits.
