Indiana High-Need Schools and Career Readiness Act

Be it enacted by the Indiana General Assembly that the State of Indiana shall establish a targeted education support program to provide additional formula funding to public school districts serving high concentrations of low-income students, persistent staffing shortages, or below-state-average academic performance; create teacher retention incentives, including state-funded stipends and student loan repayment assistance for educators who commit to multi-year service in designated high-need schools; and expand access to career and technical education by funding equipment, transportation, and regional partnerships with community colleges and employers in underserved communities, with the Department of Education required to publish annual reports on fund distribution, staffing outcomes, and student participation.
